2020 is shaping up to be an amazing year of travels with our next adventure less than a month away.

That’s right, were going back to Amsterdam! The last time we went back in 2017 was for my 19th birthday. This year the reason for our travels is Shaun’s 25th birthday.
This time round it will be nice to relax a little more (with a pint or two).

This time we won’t be doing as many of the touristy things as we did most of those the first time around. Last time we visited;
The Rijksmuseum. This was such an amazing Museum to visit. Normally i’m not big into museums but this one had such a variety of exhibits that it was really enjoyable!
The Zoo. I love seeing all the amazing animals and zoos are the best opportunity to do so. The on in Amsterdam had the most amazing enclosure for Giraffes with a restaurant above where we sat, ate freshly grilled burgers and watched these animals.
A’Dam Tower. We got so many photos from the top of the tower. We also timed it perfectly as the sun was setting and the sky was beautiful.

Of course, we did the swing over the edge which was so scary as fuck much fun.

The Anne Frank Museum. You simply cant go to Amsterdam and not go here. Anne Frank is someone we were taught about in school and it was surreal to be in the actual house. We had to do the long queue because the tickets were all sold out for the day we wanted to visit. So if you’re going; get there early and bring snacks!
Vondel Park. We will definitely go back through this park as its such a beautiful place to walk around. It’s also right on the doorstep of our hotel.
We have also booked the most ideal hotel, right in the centre just a 5 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum and Vondel Park. This also means we will be close enough to the centre to get a chance to experience the infamous nightlife. Last time we were so far out we didn’t really get the chance.

Waffles and coffee for breakfast everyday!
Seen as we have been to Amsterdam before, this time round we will be looking to go on a couple of day trips. For these, the top contenders are Rotterdam, Eindoven, The Hague and a trip to see the tulip fields and windmills. We only have 5 nights in total so we cant do all of these trips. Narrowing it down is proving to be very difficult.

The main reason for this post is to get some inspiration for places to visit and things to do. If you’ve visited amsterdam and found any amazing bars, restaurants or coffeeshops I want to know. Or if you have any opinions on the four potential day trips i’m in desperate need of help finding the best options!
Let me know in the comments below, and happy travels.
