While most places will be closed across the country for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth, there will be some places still open. For those who don’t want to stay at home, for whatever reasons that might be, I wanted to put this list together so those people know they have somewhere to go across Sunderland.
The purpose of this post is not to defame any of these businesses. It has been written from a place of community and support. If you feel like you don’t want to watch the funeral or simply have no interest in it, this post is for you to find somewhere to go.
If you know of anywhere that is not on this post then please let me know so I can add it.
Before I get into it, it would be a great help for me if you could subscribe to my blog. It means you will never miss another of my posts!
Let’s get into it!
Pop recs in town will be open their usual 9am-3pm, after announcing it on social media with this pretty funny post:
Flamingo Cafe down in Seaham will also be open. Their hours are 10am – 3pm.
Coffee 57 on High Street West in the town centre will be open from 11am – 3pm.
Another Seaham business will be open 9am – 4pm. They have announced on their stories that they will be open with this message on this stories:
Vesta Tillys in the town centre will also be open and showing the funeral on their TVs. They are open from 9:30am.
The Scullery Silksworth
The Scullery posted a lovely message showing a great sense of community. They will open their doors and show the broadcast so people don’t have to sit alone to watch it. For me, that’s what this post is all about.
Thank you for reading this post and I hope you have found somewhere to visit. If you know of anywhere else please let me know and I will add it on.
Please don’t use this post to insult or attack any of these businesses. That is not the intent of it.
Thank you for your service, Queen Elizabeth
