This March I will be turning my daily walks into something meaningful. I have set myself the challenge to walk 10’000 steps every single day in March to raise money for Cancer Research UK. That is 310’000 steps over the full month!

I have a great deal of reasons why I want to raise money for Cancer Research. And I imagine you all do too. I could turn this into a sob story about loss and struggle but I think we have all had enough of that in the last year. So instead I want to talk about a positive future. A one where the statistics are kinder, the number of deaths is lower and the recovery stories outweigh the stories of battles lost.

That is a future we all want and it is possible with research. If you are so able to donate then I would be incredibly grateful. Whether it is £50 or 50p, with this, every penny counts!

Week 1 Update:

It is now Sunday 7th and we are one week through this challenge. So far, the fundraiser is at £137 which is incredible! I set the target at £150 but I think I might have to raise it if it is met this coming week. This week has been a bit of an eyeopener. I didn’t think when I set out to do this that making sure I hit at least 10k steps everyday would make much of a difference. However, that has not been the case at all! I am definately sleeping a lot better because I am exhausted. My lower back and calves are KILLING ME! But overall I feel so much fitter and the walking in general is getting easier. On Saturday I clocked 20k steps for the whole day, double what I needed. Yet this morning when I woke up I didnt feel any pain or anything. I just feel so much healthier, and I am being a little more productive in other aspects of my life too! I can’t wait to see how I feel next week!
